The Pelhams

In 1998, the Village of Pelham and the Town of Pelham Manor began utilizing Empress as its exclusive provider of 911 ambulance service. Having utilized ambulance service from New Rochelle for over 10 years, the Pelhams desired a higher level of coverage in their communities. Empress was a likely choice.

Within Pelham, Empress operates one advanced life support ambulance stationed at a centrally located Pelham fire house. The ambulance responds on all calls for service in the two communities along with fire and police first responders/EMT's. The stationing of an ambulance within the Pelhams affords a faster response time and enhanced patient care.

During periods of excessive call volume, an advanced life support ambulance stationed only minutes away is available to handle the call. Dispatching for the system is a combined effort between the Westchester County Fire Control and Empress Dispatch Center.
